I've been using a pre that consists of caffeine, beta-alanine, and a shit ton of sketchy sweetners. I'm looking for a pre that doesn't have a load of garbage fillers and sweetners. Any suggestions?
What do you reasonably expect a pre-workout to do for you?

I also mix my own. It's got Creatine, Beta-alanine, Citrulline-malate and Taurine in it. It's great because you can partition it how you like. I'm taking creatine off-days too so I don't want that mixed in with anything and also lately I've started having the citrulline-malate with some carbs for an intra-workout drink. It's fucking great.

Also, I've read that mixing taurine and beta-alanine can reduce effectiveness. Is that true?

citrulline malate is for pumps, but it's only 2/3 the active ingredient; 6g citrulline malate is only 4 grams citrulline, so 6g l-citrulline is better because it's purer.
An oldschool bodybuilder called James tiny Vest on YouTube says that there are way better pump ingredients, however, but I don't remember what they are.

I only use a pre workout if I'm worried I might not get a PR, but the most caffeine I ever took was like 375mg and my heart didn't feel right.
