Anyone else working on their neck muscles as part of their routine?
I've realised people think I'm skinny when I'm at work because even though I can deadlift a motorcycle I've got a neck like a stack of dimes and its all people see.
Might be genetic.
I deadlift 250kg and my neck is thick af.

I've been training it twice a week for over a year.
One day I use resistance bands tied to the bottom of the power rack and do curls and extensions. The other day I make a harness out of 3 straps and do weighted curls and extensions.
I've put on at least a few inches and it makes you look much better, especially when wearing clothes that conceal the rest of your gains.

What I do for Neck Size
Ever since my subs have been growing more on youtube, I have been getting asked more and more what I do to train my neck. I usually respond “nothing, my neck was getting plenty of work from wrestling.” The thing is, I haven’t actually consistently wrestled now for about 4 years. No matter what muscle group, inactivity for 4 years will lead to atrophy. But this hasn’t been the case for me. So I am left wondering, how the heck have I maintained all of my neck size? I literally do zero neck isolation exercises. However, I do a ton of deadlifts and upper back exercises so I’m sure that contributes a bit…but in the grand scheme of things, those movements can’t be doing too much for neck hypertrophy…look at the majority of people lifting in the gym, they are pencil necks! So the more and more I think about it, I always come to the same conclusion: it must be the head banging to metal music. As much as this may seem like a joke, it actually makes a whole lot of sense. The neck is primarily fast twitch muscle fibers so it’ll respond better to short bursts of intense activity. What does head banging consist of…short bursts of balls to the wall neck flexion and extension. You cannot say that just because there is no added resistance, it is not intense. For example, look at how insanely developed 100 meter sprinters legs usually are. How is that possible considering they don’t live in the squat rack or leg press? It is because it is not the weight…it is the effort! I guarantee that the guy that sprints with 100% effort every day will have dramatically better lower body develop than the shmuck that hits the leg extensions and leg curls once a week. On a similar note, I guarantee that the guy head banging to metal every day will have a much larger neck than the super chill electro dance listener or whatever. If you want more evidence, look at the necks of Corey Taylor of Slipknot, George Fischer of Cannibal Corpse

Unless you do actual neck work, I highly doubt you have a big strong neck.
