Those are for cheaters. Learn some proper form

Chucks or barefooted for me.

Also I'm a poor fag, seriously can't afford shoes. Wearing my dad's old shoes to work actually.

without. but it really doesn't matter, since a rack pull is essentially a partial deadlift you dont want your hips raised but as it's just the final few inches of the movement it really doesn't make much difference

Shouldn't make much difference beyond the inch or so of increased ROM, which you can achieve just as well with lowering the rack a bit.

Now, deficit deadlifts with weightlifting shoes, y/n? Tried them for the first time yesterday, felt really gud. I like doing deficit dls, feels more natural to get that initial tension on the bar.

There's really no reason to use them for full deadlifts you may as well just do it in your socks they don't do anything but make it slightly harder.

Obviously it's not by a huge amount but there's no real reason to do it

I actually pull less with socks vs. my usual chuck taylors, by going barefoot not only does lining up my feet under the bar get more difficult but the pull just feels off which causes me to yank the bar off the ground. Believe it or not, for me a set of 5 at ~80%1RM is easier to do from about 1.5 in deficit. It all comes down to glute activation I guess.

I've also done snatch grip deficit dl sets at 65% which are really fun/horrible, although very taxing on grip.

They're rack pulls.

They're fucking useless.

It doesn't matter.
