I have hurt my left hip flexor a bit. I tried just squatting a bit less and really careful for the last week but it's not working out as intended. When I get to my working weights I subconsciously shift my weight away from my left hip to my right one which fucks over my whole squat and causes my left hip to impinge, further aggravating my hip flexor. I don't want to deload any more weight because the reps already move really fast and the weight gets too lite. So I figured I will replace squats with lunges for 2-3 weeks. They feel good for my hips and will allow me to really hammer my legs. I'll periodize them like I would for my squats ( I run blests late novice program).
What do you think about it? As I recall Filip did something similar when he had his si problems.

Nah, I was shitposting a bit, mixture of making fun of feds that don't use monos (and therefore safeties) and making fun of people who give a shit if you dump or not. Powerlifters generally shouldn't be bailing in most cases though.

Squat bars are too stiff and get dicked up when dropped, and bumpers take up a lot of space on the bar unless you are using steel insert bumpers (which you probably don't go to a gym that has). It's also a pretty shitty use of 25KG bumpers to squat with unless you are a Weightlifter. Typically powerlifters normally train closer to failure and actually grind in training somewhat frequently.

Generally speaking dumping makes sense at Weightlifting gyms for Weightifters, and people who squat high bar who choose to lift at Weightlifing gyms.

I'm not sure there is. Marcel seemed to prefer sternum pull-ups, the chinese tend to do behind the neck.

In my opinion, you're best off varying between the different options weekly or monthly, to keep the stimuli slightly changing.

Ok, you could do box squats with light weight, the key is to be explosive so as to develop stronger leg drive as far as I understand, could also be substituted with leg press if keeping the bar on your back is a huge problem. How is your arch influenced by this problem?

In a nutshell, I can't do proper hip hinge without pain (disc starts to "signal" me).

That's why I can't reach parallel - unless I bring knees way, way forward but that might be why I can front squat.

This is silly, all competition bench presses should be paused :^), replace with something different, I'd say incline press perhaps.

Also for B, I'd do board presses instead of floor presses, otherwise looks good.

Only the StrengthShop lever belts are IPF approved. I had a 13mm single prong belt from them. Quality was decent for the price. One thing I noticed was it seemed to slacken as a session went on. As in it felt stiff on my first set of squats, but as it warmed up throughout the sets it felt like there was more and more give in the belt.

Look up the Blest programs. They have a 4x/week frequency for SQ and BP. Any higher than that seems overkill for beginners desu

Keep most sets at @8 or lower
Do lighter variations of the lifts on some of the sessions to keep fatigue down, like highbar squats or deficit deadlifts
If you push yourself it eventually becomes neccessary to peak or put in some lighter weeks. You can start with 4 weeks volume and 4 weeks peaking.

Keep it simple. Say you're benching 3x a week on this hypothetical U/L split. Choose some rep ranges for each day. I assume you'd want to do higher reps. You can then either keep the sets constant across a 4 week block and increase the weight each week in the block, or keep the load constant and increase the sets. For example:

Day 1: Close Grip Bench, sets of 12
Day 2: Wide Grip/Incline bench, sets of 10
Day 3: Comp Bench, sets of 8

Do that for 4 weeks, then start a new block but shift the reps down 2 on each day. So you'd be doing 10/8/6 instead of 12/10/8.

For squats maybe, not so much for the bench programs, its very specific on what you have to do. Candito bench is very sub par, it's unlikely you'll make gains, but not impossible. You'd be better off with better bench programming. Also regardless of your decision, going ham on upper body accessories will only help you.

Is mixed griped deadlift really bad? Today I got my first grip plateau on deadlifts with overhand grip. Im not using chalk nor straps though. Should I get the chalk first to test it or switch to mixed grip?
