>started off by doing push-ups / sit-ups 3 times a day. (morning - lunch - before bed)
>started off with 5 reps of each, due to weak body strength, now i'm up to 25
>walking my dog every day (poor dog was also fat due to me :()
>notice a big change in how i feel, no longer feel slugging and like death each day.

am i gonna make it, does anyone have tips for sticking to this and not losing motivation? + a good way to watch and track your calorie intake

Make sure you never stop! Like if your dog dies, don't go all sad and stop running because of it.

I've just taken a look and set-up a spreadsheet with some basic info with my current BMR / TDEE and such and i'm going to start making sure i'm the 500 under my TDEE and such.

The subject of my dog is actually super relevant, he's getting old (8 this year) and i can tell that on our walks / runs he starts to struggle towards the end, but maybe thats just because he's still a little pudgy, but he's definitely looking thinner than before!

This is because you when you use your muscles near to exhaustion, they tell your circulatory system to bulk 'em up with chemical energy. Im not even kidding, your muscles are like,"hey we're fucking empty in here, get us some fuel" and your blood's like "OK MATE" and the next thing (tomorrow) you know, everything seems easier to lift, less heavy -- because you literally hvae more energy stored in your muscles.

Of course you gotta keep using that energy, otherwise your body's just gonna be like, "eh, why bother filling it up, he never uses it anyway".

I'm not sure how I would even start getting into this, I feel enough shame about my body when I run so i run at night, i feel like i'd die of anxiety walking into a gym.

If going to the gym is so scary then get a home gym off of Craigslist for cheap, or shell out the 500$ or so for a new rack, bench and weights.
The gym is great though, you don't need to worry about judgement. If people see you in there struggling and busting ass they'll only respect it, and there's a pretty good chance you'll find people there who will help you with your form.
There's nothing that warms a gymbros cold dead heart more than seeing a fatty get their shit together.
