I fucked up fit. I came home for the holidays and was so pumped to work out (the only decent gym at uni is £50/month). I got excited and went too heavy on my deadlifts yesterday and it fucked me up, I had to stop squatting today because of the pain. I want to make the most of my time at this gym, so how do I recover the fastest?

Depends what the pain was.
Generic advice: couple of Ibuprofen can't hurt, along with ice as they'll reduce inflammation.
But figure out what it is first, and don't do anything stupid in the meantime.

It's like a twinge if I bend down too far in my very lower back

Well, really if you want to make the most of gym time then you need to see a professional to figure out what it is. If you're lucky, it will right itself after a day or two of rest and icing. But you won't know for sure until you try lifting, and you'll obviously have to be cautious if you do, so unfortunately you will have to accept some lost gym time. But I suspect you already knew that.
So basically: Ice/rest,cautiously test back, go and see someone if you're desperate. I suspect it's a muscle strain but obviously there's no way I can actually know.
