I miss when fitness wasn't so mainstream brehs. I think that's what hurt a lot of /fit/ personally, Zyzz was one of a kind because faggot fitspo "buy my supps and watch my vids" culture hadn't pervaded every level of the mainstream.

I don't miss old /fit at all. Nostalgia is a mental illness. There is just as much knowledge on this board as there was when I first started lurking as anon 7 years ago. If you can't distill memes from good advice then you won't enjoy your stay. The only people who complain about old got are the ones who wanted everything spoon fed to them. Trap threads have been on this board forever.

Blacks get called nigger way less now, even though there are /pol posters. Overall the board looks better in CBT's because anons stuck with their training and kept applying the feedback they get here.

When I first lurked I was an intermediate lifter with a good body so I looked to those who had achieved more than me and learned from their knowledge. I remember when I used to get laughed off this board because of my weak legs, now they are my strong point. Now I am an elite lifter with an amazing body and lurk mostly for entertainment and to help out kids here who take their training seriously or are just getting started and need some positive words of encouragement. Dissemination of distilled knowledge for the oldfags and open minded ego-less desire to learn for the newfags is the only mindset to get the most out of this board and make it.

Nostalgia is a mental illness and I agree with you things do change over time. There will always be trolling. But in other respects it does get annoying with the constant spam. I do not mind fat people hate as it stays on topic and it motivates people to get fit. But some of it is just off topic and just sad pathetic attempts at trolling.
