What's a good running goal for a noob runner? I'm doing a conditioning week and clocked a 10 min mile on first run. Going from there, should I try to increase my distance in first or decrease my time?

I'm just starting out myself but from what I've read on r/running the best thing you can do at this point is focus on mileage for endurance, then you can focus on time with intervals
You should be setting your own goals then perhaps asking the best way to achieve them.

when i was doing running i was aiming to get 20min 5k
my best time was like 21:40 so still garbage, but i started lifting intesively so i dont really have time now

Running in hiit is going to burn my muscles or is the same as order hiit exercises?

Not OP, but I did some 400 meter interval sprints this morning, was aiming for 12 but I got to 8 and died
>1:49 per lap
How to increase endurance, time, and not make running an eternal hell?

This is why I like treadmills. As much as I love running on trails and stuff, a treadmill allows you to gauge your progress better. Every time you run, increase the speed by .2, and try to go further without stopping.

Go for distance first since you sound like you have weak/shitty running muscles.
Afterwards when you can do comfortable 3-4 miles you can start doing fartleks and build VO2 max.

that's a 7:20 minutes per mile, which is really fast for a jog pace.
go slower and build general endurance.

Ok, I'll try that as well as increasing weekly mileage for endurance. I'm pretty short so I was trying to get a strong stride to make up for my 5'7 manlel frame
Up your distance instead of speed first. Once you get up to three miles, do one long, slow run per week to continue building endurance, one medium intensity per week (should be 2-3 miles) and one very intense, short session (e.g. 800m repeat intervals on a track). Continue this until you reach six miles for your long, slow run.

Thanks for being the running equivelent to the gym douche.

Sounds like you have a personal problem. What seems to be your boggle?
>>40846821
It isn't a personal problem. Doing that is just being a douche.

Awww, is babby butthurt by my 100m magnet on my vehicle? How about my ultra belt buckles and t-shirts? You really that jelly that I completed RtRtR?

Should I be worried about time during those long weekly endurance runs? I mean I'm not going to be walking, but I'd imagine towards the back end I'll be at a pitifully slow jog.
Also, during repeats is it ok to take LONG rest periods between sets? Today I was walking like 300-400 meters between 400 meter repeats cause I was so fuvking dead

Do not worry about time at all during the long slow runs. If you have to walk, so be it. When doing intervals, you do a specified distance the rest afterwards. At first, I would just stop and walk one lap, then do another one. Onve you get better, you can jog a lap instead of walk.

Ok, I'll keep all of that in mind, I appreciate the help senpai
