No you retarded just find another hobby. You could be honing a skill in your extra time if your life is so empty. Anything at all would be good for your mind, body and spirit. Learning an instrument, martial arts, yoga, meditation etc

On a related note, how does one change their sleep cycle?

The key to getting used to getting up early is forcing yourself to go to bed about 10 hours before you have to get up. That way you can toss and turn for an hour or so and when you do go to sleep you'll get 8 hours.
It sucks up all your free time you used to have but it does make the days go by faster and you won't feel burnt out anymore.

I work 7 days, then 7 nights before I'm off for a week. My trick is literally just to not sleep worth a shit for the first two days of work and then, yeah, pass out immediately after I get off work finally.
