I still don't really get the narrow hips. Do people mean narrow hips in relation to the chest width (like where my lowest rips are?) or compared to the total width of the shoulders.
I feel like my rip cage is at the bottom only slightly wider than my hips but my shoulders are easily wider than my hips.
In pic related: is the part in the red circle actually part of the rip cage or is that the lat? I never was athletic and I can't really go around touching random guys seeing for myself.
they mean hips in relation to CLAVICLE
both with are GENETICALLY determined from BIRTH

mine are definitely wider than my hip bones but not extremely so. I guess I might just be average...
I could fit right in the middle of these two guys, I guess nothing special then?
Damn Steve Cook is perfect.

You measure the width of your collar bones, end to end (don't include the deltoids), then you measure the width of your pelvis, or hip bones. If the ratio from clavicle to pelvis is less than 1.6:1 you should probably eat a bullet.

damn! how can we even compete brehs

Damn moar?

>You measure the width of your collar bones
How do you even go about doing that? I'm not asking my mom to borrow her sewing measuring tape to "measure my clavicle to hip ratio".

>Wide shoulders, narrow hips
Ideal
>Wide shoulders, wide hips
Less then ideal, but you can work with this
>Narrow shoulders, narrow hips
Less then ideal, but you can work with this
>Narrow shoulders, wide hips
Hard to work with, pretty much fucked for aesthetics
All you need to worry about is hip to shoulder ratio. Nothing you can do about this beyond building up your lats.
Also some people would say wide hips and wide shoulders are ideal but it depends on what you are going for. In terms of overall aesthetics I think narrower hips look better, but for looking big and powerful and having functional lifts/strong man being wider in general is more beneficial.
but a lot of guys just store fat around their hip area too so you wont really know where you are at unless you are under 15% BF.
Are we all just going to ignore that op thinks rib is spelled "rip"?
