Tap water does have electrolytes. Electrolytes are nutrients that supplement water in hydrating your body. They include sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

They sell electrolyte water (Smart Water), but it's expensive and pointless.

Gatorade was formulated with electrolytes as well as sugar in order to hydrate and refuel athletes, because athletes need a quick boost of energy during competition. Someone sitting at a desk does not need that, and will convert all that sugar into fat in an instant. A bodybuilder/bulker may want Gatorade after lifting so that the body does not steal energy from the muscles.
