Because of Genetics and/or life experiences.
Someone who rowed in college might find the opposite.

I think it's partially psychological; once you're under the bar you either lift or get squashed, when pulling, that added pressure isn't there, and you're relying on your own determination to move the weight.

For most people the pulling muscles aren't used as much as the pushing muscles.

It's also harder to pull out then to resist going balls deep.

Because pushing is easier than pulling. This is why engineers put the engine in the back of sports cars instead of the front. Or at least part of the reason.

This actually makes sense. I've tried to push the last rep up for bench for 10+ seconds before, whereas with bent over rows I usually give up after a couple seconds of the bar not moving.
