Pretty bad. I've counted calories for awhile to track my eating habits and calorie consumption and I'll easily average 500 calories a meal for three meals, plus another 500 in snacks. Cut the pasta and the snack, always have chicken/turkey breast and broccoli/frozen veggies in your home, eggs and tuna should be your stapples too. Oats/greek yogurt if you're feeling you really need some carbs. Take one step at a time and ALWAYS count the kcals and macros, don't try to rush thing. The first few days are going to be rough but after the first two weeks you won't believe the trash you used to eat. All these things are pretty cheap and easy to find and cook.

I personally shoot for 100 breakfast, 500 lunch, be mindful at dinner (ideally it would be 1200, but it's a family meal so measuring and what's being served isn't much of an option). No snacks. I wouldn't worry about not eating enough unless you hit your final goal and you need to up your diet intake to maintenance levels.

Always do cardio, pretty safe fromthe spaghetti spilling side and you can't really go wrong with cardio. Now the gyms in my country have this all-purpose-personal-trainer that on the first day tell you what to do on how to do exercises and by the next two times gives you a routine to follow on a paper sheet. No idea how it works in burgerland just say this is your first time when you subscribe and you'll figure that out. I've absolutely no business giving workout advice since I'm still a total faggot in that department. i'm in a similar situation, i've changed my diet a lot recently and my family has taken to calling it "my special food". they think they're not allowed to eat it because "i'm on a diet" and they still eat fairly unhealthy, when in reality i actively encourage them to eat it so they can better themselves too. i'm hoping they'll start to see the changes in me and want to better themselves on their own but only time will tell, forcing them would only make them resist harder in my case. i would have a talk with your wife though if you're that concerned about her weight , i'd bring up health risks associated with being fat/obese instead of just saying you're a fat gross bitch

Hey guys i have pretty fucked up knees, i tried jogging the other day because a friend invited me and i wanted to try doing it after like 2 years of being sedentary, bad idea.

However, i want to actually go out and just walk, it was so refreshing and calming, i wont be able to jog, but i was thinking of brisk walking, trying to probably hit 120-130 bpm or something like that (resting bpm is 84) and do it for an hour everyday.

1200-1500 per day is fine in my opinion. It gives you some leeway if you're eating more calories than you think or if a social eating event pops up where counting the calories isn't easy. I'm no nutritionist and I've only been losing weight for 3 months though, so I'm potentially talking out my ass.

Depending on your weight, I don't think slowly is the best approach. You want that psychological impact of watching your recorded weight go down. I mean if you were 180 with a goal of dropping 30 pounds, slow might be better, but personally I started at 350 and am down to 320 from the new year, but my plan is to hit 180 and then start working on building muscle. Might change that up in the future, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I'm a girl too and just followed a routine from stumptuous that I've kinda modified now. I started about 4 months ago and am down to 180 from 215.

It's really not that hard the etiquette. Mainly mind your business, put the weights or whatever you used back where you got it from, wipe things down when you sweat.

My experience, and based on a lot of anecdote, is personal trainers will start you out with a standard Delorne routine. Which is fine as it goes, but it's a bodybuilding routine. And will give you bodybuilding results if you stick with it long enough. As girls are want to do.

When I've trained people in the past I set them on running/calisthenics for the first 6-12 weeks with a diet revamp. Lifting isn't necessarily essential to "fitness". All depends on your goals.

I feel like I want to lose another 20lbs before I start lifting. I feel like when it's busy it's actually less attention. Everyone is too busy keeping an eye out on the next empty bench to be looking around. For the most part no one bugs anyone at gyms like you'd think. I'm personally too occupied trying to keep form and it seems more are in the same mind.

There's also ton of way fatter people than you at a gym. Trust me just go for a couple weeks and you'll see it's not as intimidating as your mind is building it as. Idk why but before I really did think "oh no I'm too fat and people will judge" but nah nobody gives a fuck.

I mentioned it in another thread but I do a cheat day once every two weeks so long as I lost +5lbs in those two weeks. And it's more half a cheat day with just a cheat meal and then rest of the day keeping track.
