Situps are the shittiest exercise for core
>>
Lol situps

If you do them properly then its safe. But a lot of people don't do them properly.

There's better exercises for abs anyway imo.
Kneeling cable crunches are god tier and shit all over sit ups.

They can't fix your lower back. But they are good. And the improved core strength should help prevent future back issues.
But nothing will protect you from your own dumb self.
Give up now before, you truly fuck your shit up!

Elevate your legs on a bench when doing them. Yoi can make this a much more effective exercise by holding the weight back behind your head instead of in front of chest. This increases lever arm length and provides far greater ab resistance.

You dont get much if any added benefit from weighted situps. The only way for them to be effective is if you can do perfect situps with a small weight behind your head. When you add weight to the torso you barely notice a difference in core activation than if you did normal situps with your hands above/behind your head.
