I went to Disney World for vacation when I was a kid. From what I remember, americans were a lot more outgoing, forward and helpful than what you'd expect from people back home.

But there is a very serious obesity problem over there. And it's spreading to Europe along with all the other culture (which can be both good and bad).

I live in a major city and even with bike lanes, Americans fucking hate cyclists. I don't mean competitive cyclists or ones who go on trails, its the ones who go through the city not following standard driving laws because they believe they ALWAYS have the right of way. It's too fucking dangerous to be a biker here because of crime and other shit. Way too many chances someone will knock you off your bike to either steal it or just to be assholes.

Too look at American's obesity epidemic, we need to look at the 90's FAT FREE craze. There were so many godawful foods that became fat free by throwing in extra sugar. Only now in fucking 2017 are we finally going to have nutrition labels that show what your percentage of sugar intake should be.


If you asked 100 random americans how many calories they should eat in a day, most would remember the 2000 number. If you were to ask how many grams of sugar you should have in a day - you MIGHT have 5 people who would say 40 grams, most would have no clue.

If you told an American that one can of soda has their entire sugar intake for the day, they wouldn't believe you.

as a military brat i moved from canada to europe for 4 years. somehow the bread, cheese and wine are a lot cheaper and yet my parents actually lost weight and got healthier.
the first month i moved back to canada it was ridiculous. These huge bags of chips lined up by the hundreds, so many fast food places. I gained weight from drinking lemonade. The food and culture surrouding it in north america is, in my opionion, a lot less healthy than europe. i guess europe is more fun in a lot of ways and people walk and bike more, but still. even with germany's greasy ass fast food i didn't see as many fat people as there are in canada
