Does anyone time their rests?
>>40746011
Yes, people at my gym think I'm retarded for doing it but they like bs'ing with one another between 20 minute deadlift rests.
>>40746011
I do. On Pull day I do chinups with exactly one minute rest between sets. Timing the breaks allows yourself to be consistent and you can measure your strength progress more easily

Kinda, I just wear a watch and it makes it pretty easy to rest exacltly a minute, minute and a half, 30 seconds...
>tfw you got a bright idea to cut your rest times so you could save time
>cut squat rest times from 5 to 2 minutes
It was pretty shitty 2bh. My legs were trembling when I unracked my last set.
>tfw whatever little time you saved probably went into shitposting and other useless degeneracy
By song, once a song changes I stop resting.
>>40746011
Yeah. 90 seconds if the previous set was easy, 180 if hard, 300 if I failed a rep or broke form in order to finish a rep

Or professional behavior for acutally making it
But some shitposters on /fit/ will never learn
not even samefagging
In swimming practice we always time the rests
>there are people on /fit/ RIGHT NOW that don't even time their rests AND ARE GIVING ADVICE
>>40746011
Yeah, 1-3 minutes depending on the difficulty of the lift
>>40746011
i rest until i think that resting more wont make the next set way easier. so usually 5 minutes. but i dont time it.
>>40746011
Yes
>>40746011
fit notes has a timer built in.I use it on my major strength lifts, but not really on my accessory stuff.
It helps to make your rests more consistent, and then you can control your work rate progress as well.
The lifter who squats 140 kg with 2 minute rests is fitter than the one who does so with 5 minute rests, all else being equal.

>not resting until you feel ready
>resting in a time frame given to you by a Mongolian basket weaving forum
>>40746011
yes its not about counting seconds rather about making well timed breaks in the training

Yes. I look autistic, but I have a tendency to rush myself. It helps me be efficient in terms of getting enough rest to finish my sets.
