Go up to 185 last week. Stalled out on the 5th rep on the first two sets, and the 4th rep on the final set.

My chest is probably the most sore I've ever felt so I feel like the high reps with my 70% is gonna help my overall growth and strength. My biggest issue with this and pushing movements in general seems to be lactic acid build up in my triceps. I have to wait 3+ mins between sets. It's even worse on dips. One time when the bench was taken I did a couple sets of dips first then when I went to bench I failed on my warmup set.

I've been thinking of just doing pushups all day might help

You can also do unweighted Bulgarian lunges for some lower body work. All you need is a couch or something.

To all benchlet GDEs: if you want to bench more, do barbell bench at least twice a week, mostly for sets of 2,3,4 and maybe 5. Hit another barbell accessory like closegrip bench or Spoto bench for maybe slightly higher reps. You can do some chest work as well but this is probably actually not as important as getting fucken huge guns. Do some direct armwork for a few high reps sets.

Back work for bench IS a meme, but do enough rowing to develop your back and keep your shoulders healthy.

I started with only the chest press machine for the same reason. I'd just encourage you to go for the free weights asap, nut it up and ask for a spotter. If anyone judges you for being a DYEL, fuck them. That's why you're there, to better yourself. I went from 155 to 205 in 4 years. When I started I could get 25s for like 4 reps. So I just did a ton of pushups, the pec deck and chest press machines until I hit the holy 1pl8. After that, all free weights. You run the risk of under-developing stabilizing muscles which can definitely fuck you and increase your risk for serious shoulder injury in the future. I always recommend free weights as they decrease the risk of injury down the road. Just throw in a lot of pushups and dips, and you'll be there before you know it. Try dumbell flyes, cable flyes, put a pl8 on your back and do pushups, focus on a lot of tricep exercises. You'll get there.

I do a lot of push-ups through the day and I find that doing 5-10 push-ups immediately after an OHP or bench set helps tremendously with stamina and mass. I also do dips, an work, and push-ups in the sauna for a half hour after my workouts and cardio. Stay fit senpai

Guy, only been lifting steadily since January. Been making good progress though, raising the weight every week so the plan is to start cutting at the start of April since my bodyfat is pretty high and I'd rather be a little more lean. 5'7" at 190lbs. Good to hear you do push-ups, I try and do those every night as well as working towards being able to do a pull-up.

bench is my biggest issue rn, I just tested 1rm and got 70kg ohp, 165kg squat and 180kg dl but best I could do on bench is 87.5kg.

I am now benching 3x a week and doing flies and dips as accessories so hopevully I can get it up to 100kg at least within the next couple months.

Yeah it is definitely the best program I ever tried. Progress is very good, it allows me to be 2 hours in the gym almost every day and be productive, and the rep schemes are really fun!

You should allways have a rowing counter exercise to your bench press.. Else you will develop caveman hunchback look and have fucked up shoulders. Start rowing for cardio, do body waight rows/barbell rows.

On progress you will continue to increase without supplement excercises to atleast 225. If you feel like you are at a peek, change up your workout, do some hypertrophy, etc
