Why the FUCK do the toenails on my big toe do this CONSTANTLY. My entire life I've struggled to get the toenails on both of my big toes to stop growing inwards, but no matter what I do, they keep doing it. No matter how I cut them, no matter how I file them, every single time they just grow abnormally large on one side and end up pushing into the side of my toe, underneath the skin where I can't reach them. It hurts bad enough by itself, but feels like satan himself is ripping my toes if I ever bang them against anything.
It's always the left side of the toenail on my left toe, and the right side of the toenail on my right toe. The right side of my left toenail and the left side of my right toenail are fine for whatever reason though.
How the fuck do I stop this? Not temporarily, I want a permanent fix. I already know all the bullshit "soak it in hot water, gently push the skin back and clip and yadda yadda". I don't want to know how to cut it every week, I want to know how to cut it once so that this stupid goddamn shit never happens again. Is surgery an option? A permanent option? Please, I just want my toenails to stop causing me so much pain, discomfort, and frustration.
Pic related is my left big toe toenail. Notice how much bulkier the left side of it is and how it's pushing into the side of my toe.
Don't cut it so goddamn short on the sides. Wedge a little bit of cotton or something under it so it grows outward over the skin. It'll be uncomfortable at first but it's relieving when it gets better.

This happened to me as a teenager. Shit got infected to the point where it would puss out and smell awful. Went to a doctor who removed my whole toenail and cut some weird area at the base of it which made it impossible for the sides to grow out.
Looks pretty normal now although I specifically remember it being an extremely fucking painful operation. The doctor only put those numbing shots in my toe which didn't work in the slightest so he was literally cutting off my toenail with next to no pain relief. Almost threw up on my doctor because the pain was so bad

Get a brace like that. Pain was gone after a few days and haven't had any issues ever since.
Do you not clip the nail under your skin everytime? I pull it up with the clipper dry and always cut it. Every nail.
It hurts slightly if you let it grow too long, but it's better than an ingrown toenail. Which I've had and I dug it out myself and clipped it. Ever since then I made sure I basically pop the whole side out and clip it

It's gonna hurt like hell, but you gotta get under the sides and pull that shit out over the skin. Then from now on let the edges of the nail grow out longer so they can't get under the skin again

>It's gonna hurt like hell
soak feet in hot water
Get an electric pedicure set. It helped me, no ingrown nails since.

I had the same problem. Went to the doctor, he said I could a) have him remove ½ of the nail, or b) see a specialist who could remove a portion of the nail root.
I chose the latter, and it was an easy an effective operation, and my toe looks perfectly normal.
Even if you have to pay for the operation, just ask for the price beforehand, I guarantee you it will be worth it. You can't put a price in health.

Try cutting your nail in a V kinda way.
If you normally cut it like this:
______
Try cutting it like this all the way but don't cut it too deep:
----v----
Though this is only a solution if your shit isn't too far gone, which in your case it might be better to just go to a doctor straight away.
trim it like a crescent moon on its back, doc told me that when he fucked with mine

I heard that before, does that work?
You basically cut a v-shape in the middle of the toenail, right?

It's because you're cutting them like a spastic
