Is it ok for me to squat above parallel?

I have long femurs, my twin brother is 2 inches taller than me, his shins are longer than mine, but our hips are at the same height.
I go slightly above parallel during each squat, is this fine because of my long femurs, or should I just go parallel or below parallel? Last time I went parallel consistently I got hip pain and couldn't squat for 2 weeks

Is it actually hip pain or something else? I've had inner thigh pain going too wide, so I narrowed that shit up. The goal would be to adjust your feet to go below parallel...but if you can't, I guess you just can't. Find some stretches.

I'm not saying work through the pain, but adjust your feet every way imaginable before you give up. One thing that helped me was focusing on spreading my knees out as I went down...but everyone has different issues. Worst case scenario, you just don't go all the way down.

work on mobility if it feels tight, squatting down should literally feel like you're sitting between your legs, as for any other pain and anatomical limitations, we are of very little help. I suggest stretching and rolling to get more comfortable in the bottom

I know that feel. It just feels almost natural. I have more of a problem to not just bounce at the bottom but it feels a lot more natural to go all the way down the to just stop arbitrarily

i have 24 inch femurs at 6'4", longer than my torso

i can hit depth just fine

that being said, if you want leg development and not a big squat for its own sake (for PL or WL or something), you might want to consider other exercises
