Some people doing lowbar squats don't do it in the rack due to range of motion, and some cages being kind of skinny/tall. Some guy at mine squatting 4pl8 does his outside the rack.

it depends what makes you feel safe, on powerlifting comps spotters arent there to help if you fail a lift cuz it would be easier to dump it behind you without losing tension. They are there in case you faint and shit is going dangerous.

Look oly lifters, they all squat without spotters cuz its easier for body to dump weight if you cant get up. You cant dump on safties beacuse with 4pl8+ it would bend a bar unless its some good stuff like eleiko. You have to go all way down and put it out.

Me personally - highbar/front squat - im dumping behind
Lowar - Im going low on safties and leaving bar cuz I have much foward lean (lanket 6'3+) on lowbar squats and dumping behind me is difficult

I squat 200kg lowbar, 180kg highbar and about 140-150 front
