>tfw you throw up 135 OHP for the first time
Cant wait till i hit 135 ohp
you'd better not be counting the bar
135 of what???
>>40596563
>tfw gave up ohp in favour of db press
feels like I'm hitting my shoulders much more now
>>40596563
Good job bro, I'm mirin. I'm hoping to know that feel soon myself, 20lbs away.
>>40597189
Probably, more stabilization muscles used
>>40597150
nigga wtf pahjeet
>>40597189
Same, it feels a lot better. The weight is less but it's a very comfy lift.
>>40597189
OHP is manlier and you can load more weight
>>40596563
i remember the first time i ate and threw up 135 ohp
keep on keeping on
>tfw you OHP 200lbs for the first time
>tfw 225 is only 25 lbs away
>tfw that last 25lbs will be the hardest 25 lbs you've ever had to get and you feel the crushing pressure of failure literally looming overhead every time you lift the bar after that
>>40596563
I remember being 15. Really takes me back.
>>40597189
>tfw do both
stop being dumb
>>40599214
not if you don't conventionally train it, do what eric bugenhagen does
>>40596563
Congrats! I can't wait, started lifting in January and @ 70 right now. Probably my hardest lift T B H
>tfw at 125x2 ohp
>can taste the 135
>meanwhile my bench is 145x5
>notsurewhattothink
>>40597165
Over head press
>>40599255
Not OP, but just stick with it anon. I remember when I first started 85 was so difficult and felt like such an accomplishment to get up. I press 145 for 3x5 now and climbing
You can do it

>OHP press thread
Do you guys think that tris are a big limiting factor?
My progress is slowing and I'm looking for ways to help
Been thinking about doing some tri isolation for a few weeks to see if that helps
I can only do 65lb 3x5 OHP
H-Help me improve
>>40599540
Same boat
I'm thinking tris are the secret
>>40599546
I'm thinking persistence and proper diet are the answers. I'm going to add 5lbs tomorrow
>>40599546
Tbh its about core/tris/traps as your accessories.
Try slow shrugs/farmers walks
slow triceps rope pulls and sitting behind the neck raises
just work on core aswell youll see your lifts improve.
i hit 1pl8 OHP in my first 5 months.
>(or just train shoulders more)
>>40599559
Well no shit, but you can either breakdown a wall with a sledgehammer or just bash your head into it until it falls down.
>>40599583
Bro... that isn't a good analogy for OHP. Just keep at it and don't give up!
>>40599592
I'm just saying that persistence will always win regardless
But there's often an easy way and a hard way. Taking the smart route with the same persistence as the hard route will have you gain twice as much for the same amount of time
>>40599241
What would that be?
If you're having problems with the OHP, try using a narrow grip. Helped me break a plateau
>tfw hit 135*5
>tfw sprain my shoulder within a week
