Now I just read books and pretend I'm an intellectual, while I'm not playing pointless video games or struggling with alcoholism and drugs.

Was into filmmaking for most of my life, but lost that passion years ago. Did some rock climbing for a few years, dropped that. Practiced parkour/freerun, finished with that now. Took up painting and photography to renew my interest in cinematohraphy and filmmaking, but that didn't last too long. Traveled around the world for a couple of years, haven't left home now for three after getting back. Eventually went to study physics, because I thought that's something I've always been interested in. Instead I quit after the first year, because it turned out to be something I did not expect. Honestly, I think my life is just a series of dropped hobbies and ever increasing apathy or lack of motivation to find and stick with new ones.

Lately I've been thinking of picking up Kyudo, but that's impossible around here with no proper instructor.

So, /fit/ recommend me some hobbies that would spice up my life.

Produce beats and other shit on the computer too. Music is the only thing I can confidently say that I am really good at, compared to anyone off the street. Compared to other musicians I'm not anything special.

I love studying jazz theory and sound design and i'm reading a thick ass book on theory right now, unfortunately everyone in the jazz program at my school is a skinnyfat cuck so I can't really relate to them and also all of them are pretty advanced

I unironically think im too smart for a relationship. all of my hobbies (aside from lifting) are ultraintellectual. I always have to partially hide my love of learning stuff to avoid intimidating dates. people always think I'm a massive nerd when I tell them about, for example, my homemade particle accelerator.

Honesly? I don't even know. I thought astronomy was neat and theoretical physics is something that would be awesome to understand lol. That was until I realized how much of a dull grind most of it actually is. Sitting and measuring something for hours, then the distributions.

I guess I was enamored with the naive shit you see and what everyone talks about. In hindsight I kind of regret not sticking with it, maybe it would have grown on me. Whats done is done though. Now I just stick with reading some books written for laymen and watching lectures or WSF panels and the like on youtube.

Also, never been into programming, but it was made clear to us how a lot of it these days is just that, especially if you go into experimental physics.

It was funny how we were warned right at the start, that over half of us would be gone by the end of the year, which was exactly what happened.

I study drugs of all sorts passionately. It's the only thing that really gets me talking without fail.
I've had a million hobbies across my life, and none of them ever hold nearly as strong as my passion for drugs.
Just learning about them gives me a beautiful high.
Growing, extracting, synthesising, or even just buying and using are all part of my hobby as well.

It's no longer a struggle. I'm not physically dependent on psychoactives of any sort. Even my coffee intake is limited.
But it is an obsession I just cannot shake. Not to say I can't enjoy other things, but they're always there.

I got a fulltime job fixing bikes, don't know much about the history and brands but I'm good with tools and like riding.

I love working on my motorcycle and car. My Nighthawk is in parts in my buddy's shed but I plan to have it ready this summer. Last thing I did was service the shocks and change the seals. I still need new tires, chain and sprocket, and a carb service. If I had more space I would love to buy a beater car to wrench on as well.

I also love diving. I live near a town with a sick pier off Lake Michigan, and when it's windy it's a blast to go diving. The water is super rough and it's an incredible workout. I also love ice skating, but haven't gotten to do that lately.

l also love old anime and vidya history, probably more than actually watching/playing them, and I also listen to a ton of music. I also like watching youtube videos about subjects I'm interested in, but usually I'm too frugal to jump into new hobbies right away.

"Struggling" may have been the wrong word there. I don't really use that often, its just that once I get going I don't stop until I burn out, so to speak. Last time I used something was about six months ago when I tried out amanitas. Ended up taking them almost daily for a couple of months straight. I also used acid a lot years ago and I have a feeling that may have affected my ability to properly enjoy anything else in comparison.

With drinking its pretty much the same. Don't drink for months, then I start up again and go on a month long cycle. Luckily it doesn't happen often enough to interfere with my training and such.
The fact that alcohol is what stops me from being a mute at any social situation may be more of a problem, or would be one if I went out more often.

I actually was about to study it, got accepted and all, but decided on physics instead, since I already read quite a lot and I've always deemed philosophy to be more of a literary interest, than something you'd go study.

As for changing my perspective, that sounds unlikely. Hell, I don't even know what I'd want when you ask it like that. That doesn't mean I don't have any convictions or have no idea what I'd want out of life in general, on the contrary. Its just that I don't have myself figured out well enough, nor do I think I ever will.

Then again, I may just be completely full of shit here, considering I've been on the piss for two days.
