So the best way to fight is cardio aka run.

What's some more fun fighting styles that i'll probably never have to use in a fight but is still useful to learn?

Getting into a street fight usually means you've screwed up. Using your words, lowering your ego, etc. are great ways to never *need* to fight. Practically, medical bills are enough reason to avoid them - never know if the other guy is hiding a weapon.

But if you train for the enjoyment of if, then look into arts that allow you to spar/roll/etc at near full-force. BJJ/wrestling is great for this, as a street fight will look a lot like your rolls on the mat. And because most street fights are very close quarters, and usually end up with some grappling, you'll be at an advantage if you know what to do.

Though grappling is good, you'll also want strikes. Something like Muay Thai or Kickboxing will do you very well. Combine these, and you'll have your striking/grappling/ground fighting game on-point if you ever cant escape from a fight.

But seriously, avoid street fights at all costs. You can get much better fights at your dojo, and you don't have to worry about getting seriously injured or killed for your ego or wallet.

Don't know how I forgot about boxing, probably because there isn't a good boxing gym near me. It's definitely a solid choice.

I mean, I'd love to have the time to do 3 or 4 or 5 martial arts, but that's just not practical. I still say stick with two - one striking and one grappling - and focus those hard. For me, that ends up being BJJ/MT, but look into what's close and practical for you. If you're really worried, then a CCW is a possible solution, but that comes with it's own slew of problems.
