I'm pretty much in the same boat. I can go for longer distances but my speed is pretty bad even if I can sustain it. I average around a 8.5 minute mile which for a 'healthy' mid 20s guy is pretty pathetic.

If you put spaces after periods your cardio will improve. Like this.

run more get better at runnin it is that simple if you can not run an 10k in an hour you are plain and simple not doing enough cario
Sucks desu .I was talking with this overweight dude who runs half marathon and he told me "if I can run 10k then you definitely can" feelsbadman
I don't know, man, maybe it's in your head? Like, when I run I forget I'm running, and then I don't feel it.
Also >>40561950 Use proper punctuation, ffs.

I'm not even sure if I can run 10k.it would probably take me like 4 hours

Start off by doing a couch to 5k. Even though the first few weeks will be easy, it is about building good running technique.
Once you have completed it and can consistently run 5ks, up the distance or intensity or even the incline to make things harder for yourself.
Another one I found that helped is make one cardio work out a week orientated around sprint training. It helped with me breathing lots!

Does it count if I walk/run, but manage the 10k in just over 50 min?

Alternating between running and walking is not a good pacing strategy. Run a bit slower and maintain that pace throughout the 10k and you'll do better.
