Beginner here, I'm on my second week of SL, taking it slow. For now, the squats, bench presses, rows and deadlifts are really easy, but I already couldn't finish 5 reps of overhead presses. Is this exercise supposed to be a pain in the ass?
It has me kinda worried since all the other movements are so achievable. Also, not to make excuses, but I have a slight pectus excavatum, nothing big, but still noticeable.
What should I do? Any recommendations?

Oh yes, ohp is the bane of many lifters.
My suggestion, start with smaller 10kg bar, then add weight until you can press with 5kg on each sides. Then switch to the 20kg bar

Exactly this. Most lifters I know avoid OHP or press relatively low amounts. If you just started there's no shame in starting with a non-olympic bar man, plus it won't take long before you progress towards 'real' weight.
Just keep lifting
i had trouble with that too.
1. watch some form videos, reread the relevant chapter in SS
2. if you're eating at a deficit, just accept that progress will be slow

I'll take it easy then, thanks for the advice.

I much prefer it over bench press but gains are frustratingly slow. Just have to keep pressing, noone said it was easy

this little girl just cleaned more than i can

The biggest bottleneck to the Overhead Press and eventually the Bench Press are your triceps, unless you're completely ignoring upper back movements or your form is off. My focus is a 315lb strict press at the moment.
I train everyday and it looks like this:
A:
Above Knee Rack Pull
Close-Grip Bench Press
Overhead Tricep Extension
B:
Overhead Press
Barbell Glute Bridge
Z-Press (Core can also play a role in lack of progress on standard Press)
(Sometimes I interchange Z-press with Zercher Holds for core work)

Really? It's my favourite exercise by far. It's also the more natural of the reddit big 4.

same here man but i think it has something to do with peoples body types
if you have wide shoulders and a thick upper body youre gonna excel at OHP and probably not do so well at squats, etc

fucks that's literally me. glad to know there's an explanation.

That's why you do upper back work in order to increase your press.
I really like power clean and pressing. Did it first time yesterday and I really enjoy it. It makes me feel stronk. Would it be dumb to do it more often maybe even clean and press a full 3x5 set individually? I really wanna practice this power clean form
