100kg DL after the 3rd rep my grip fails

dont wanna use mixed grip or straps yet

feel like i should do lighter weight and try holding the weight as long as i can at the end of the rep for more grip gains?

If you have a hand gripper use your fingers and not entire hand.

Yes, absolutely. Hook grip will kill your thumbs if you use it for all reps and won't train grip as much. It's very easy to switch to mid-set as well.

Hook grip is DO with your thumb under your index & middlefinger so yes DO does train it more than hook grip

hook grip doesn't improve grip strength at all. It's just a mechanical trick.

I'm a manlet so my hands are smaller, making it harder to grip on heavy deads (less overlap between thumb and fingers), so I switched to mixed grip pretty early. I do double overhand for my warmup sets to work on grip strength, and then do mixed on my working set.

Once I hit 315 dead I had to start using mixed grip since I couldn't overhand after 3 reps. Been using mixed grip for a year now when my working sets are over 315 and I haven't seen any imbalances or anything. Might be a meme who knows. Also got some straps recently to try them out and apperntly I can hardly lift 2 reps at 375 with them. Took them off and used mixed grip and repped out 3x5. What I'm saying is stick with one type of grip. If double overhand just train your forearms and grip.

Are you using chalk? I can do about 350 without mixed grip but it just takes work. About 405+ if its not mixed I slip first try.
