im living the shit poor college student life and tried to go cheaper than ramen and mac n cheese for every meal. goal was to spend less money, not lose weight. ate mostly a soup made from cabbage, onions, frozen veg, beans and hot sauce every day. also bought 75 lbs of popcorn kernels (still havent ate all of them, bought more than a year ago). air popped no salt no butter popcorn is extremely low cal for its volume. chuck 1/4th cup of kernels in a brown paper bag and microwave for 2 minutes. itll fill the entire bag

298 6'6 feet here have a personal trainer not specifically trying to lose weight 5 months of lifting and squats still the same weight not sure if muscle or just fat. But I feel much better though found out I have sleep apnea so have a CPAP now dad has it as well so it's genetic he's only 160 6,2 so it can't be weight for him. Overall I'm glad I started working out. Keep at it bro's don't do it for the looks do it for the mental clarity and feeling good.

Their database has every fuarking food on the planet somehow. Then you can track your calories. Eating less than you usually do (even without exercise or lifts) will get you slim fairly easily

Meal prep literally takes 1-2 hours for a full week of meals, there is no way that it is faster for you to daily prepare your food.
Keto is linked to heart attacks and diabetes, if you actually need keto because you have cancer or epilepsy they force you to break keto every 3 months because keeping it up longer is dangerous.

My biggest problem is keeping my appetite in check. I do pretty well when I'm in college, some semesters I'll even lose some weight. But that all goes out the window when I go back home to my parents. Not sure if it's just the comfort or familiarity I have at home or just that I don't keep any food in my dorm save for some emergency ramen and beer.

I'm on adderall now (ADHD ever since I was a kid), which is at least for the time being really helping curb my appetite, and the mix of that and going full cardiobunny on the ellipticals at the university mini-gym has brought me down from 250, so thats good I guess.

I'm wanting to start liftan, but my cardio-buddy is pretty flaky. No big deal with the mini-gym, but I think I'd kinda need a reliable partner for lifting. Anybody have experience with that?

Hit 236lbs in October 2016, 4 years ago I ran a half marathon, wtf happened, how could I let it get this bad. Made it to 206lb for 2017.

Since then I've risen to 210lbs. I think a lot of this is diet relapse and salt intake causing water weight.

The main problem was not having my micro freezer bursting with chicken breast. I've been eating clean again for 2 days and have ordered some meal prep dishes.
I eat mainly chicken breast and pork shoulder or loin. I'm going to start adding flank steak into this and have chicken half the time and rotate pork and beef.

I'm about half way there and can fit into smaller jeans and clothes.

The paper towel effect is real. For Christmas I got a new belt that was already too big by then, so I poked an extra hole (81.7kg). Fast forward to early February (79.0kg), second extra hole. Now it's late Feb and I had to punch the third one (77.6kg) about a week ago, and it's fucking starting to feel a bit loose yet again!
In essence, the closer you get to your goal weight, absolute scale loss rate will slow down but smaller amounts of weight shed will be much more visible than when you started

Yeah, I'm a bit of a carb whore so having a set limit does me wonders overall. I usually have meals planned to cover the lower end of my calorie target and it helps to know that if I want to eat in the meantime I have a set goal of carbs left to do it in (usually 10-12g are left).

If I don't track the carbs I inevitably push further up my calories target than I anticipated. It just works best for me this way (except the beer because I do love to drink)

As long as you hit your protein macro my understanding is the others are only as much as you can eat until your calorie goal.

I've decided to start trying to lose weight (have already read through the sticky). For roughly the past 3 weeks I've been eating between 1500-2000 calories a day, but I'm wondering how sustainable this is, to eat so many fewer calories than the number required for for weight maintenance (I believe that's about 3600 in my case, with 0 exercise and a sedentary office job). I feel fine so far; I eat roughly 500 - 700 calories a meal with little to no snacks in between and don't feel hungry or tired. Is this a sign that I'm actually eating more calories than I think I am, or am I able to eat fewer calories because I'm such a huge fatass and my body can just rely on fat stores? For reference, before I started trying to lose wait I was probably eating around 4500 calories a day or possibly more (around 1500 a meal) but feeling about the same level of "fullness" after eating.

Also, when should I be able to start seeing any changes due to this reduced calorie diet? I know that eating 1000 calories under maintenance level is about 2 pounds lost per week, but weight loss is so alien to me that I don't know how many pounds I'd have to lose before looking noticeable thinner (even slightly so).

1500-2000 is fine since you have quite a bit to lose. You should lose fast at first, measure and weigh. If you don't lose 2 pounds a week, your calorie counting is off. Roughly means you are just estimating, get a food scale. You are half-asking it, get precise if you want track-able results.

My tde is like 2300. It's kinda of odd honestly. I've tried losing weight multiple times in the past using a 500 calorie deficit. This go around is way different though, even though I'm on a 1750 calorie diet, it almost feels like too much fucking food. Boys I'm 6 months into my cut, down to 175 from 225 and the pounds are coming off excruciatingly slow at this point.

Key factor right here. Any diet you do will be shit and hard to keep up if you can't cook.

Been on Keto for a few months and managed to make it tolerable because I found enough low carb recipes and substitutes that make it work.
