Hey /fit/ - quick question, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I had a look through the catalog and didn't see anything on it.

Basically I've been skinny as fuck all my life and I want to start doing something about it by getting onto a high calorie/ high protein diet and doing some weight training (I've looked at the sticky so I know what the aim for). The problem though is a lifetime of eating fuck all combined with bad habits (smoking, pot, six pack of beer a night) has left me with little to no appetite and I literally can't get that much food into me without spewing/feeling like my stomach's going to explode. I've kicked most of the bad habits (still drink a fair bit) so I want to start building up my appetite and stomach capacity to start gaining weight.

So I guess my question would be if anyone knows of any specific diet plans aimed at gradually building up appetite to the point where I'll be able to get a bulking amount of calories and protein into me everyday (2526 cals - 120 grams protein daily is my end goal if that helps).

Also, any general advice related to building appetite.

When I started drinking shakes I felt very full, now I make them with a lot of stuff and soon I have room for food in my stomach. It'll suck in the beggining but your body will adapt.

generally no. you gotta experiment and see what works for you but for me its milk. If I have say 500 calories at the end of the day and I am stuffed there's nothing easier than drinking some milk

Not Op here, but I'm a Skeleton who's been sedentary for a while now. I simply want to know if there's anything I should do /before/ I start lifting.

I've heard I could fuck shit up by using muscles my body is not used to using yet.

Not really, just start out easy for the first week or two. Don't push yourself. Make you sure you warm up/stretch before your regime and do the same when you're finished.

Answer you are not going to like: you have to eat. This means you will retch. You might feel like you are going to vomit .. pause, take some breaths... keep eating. You have to adapt. It won't be easy.

Yeah, I know I have to eat more, so I'm drawing up a plan. I've got a spreadsheet of how much I eat at the moment as well as a plan to incrementally increase my food intake over the next few weeks.

yeah that's half my problem (when it comes to appetite). It normally takes me half the "day" before I actually feel like eating anything. Gonna start making a concerted effort to eat a decent breakfast when I wake up since that apparently kick starts the daily hunger reflex.My sleep cycle is almost as fucked up as my eating habits which doesn't help things, I know, but I'm honestly making an effort to bring things back in line
