The posterior chain strength it provides allows more weight to be used in your mass training. You can do more pull ups, more squats, more rows, more hamstring work etc with a good deadlift

perhaps it wasnt my true max because i wasnt perfectly rested and didnt prepare myself as good as i could but in the situation i couldnt pull anymore

I know this doesnt make sense but if you just do them more often you will start to like them. I hated them but ever since I decided I was gonna pull in various repranges with various different variations I started liking all of them.

I used to fucking hate them because it felt like I was gonna pass out, turns out if you get used to doing 8-10rep DL then 5reps seem like a breeze even if it's heavier. If it feels heavy at 5 reps do some 1RM and your 5RM will feel light.

If you hate conventional just pull sumo. you can still do the variations in conventional stance like a rack pull or deficite DL. Eventually you are gonna learn the movement and start to like it.

this, the only true max I know is the one I pulled off the floor. I am not gonna go around pretending like my theoretical "true max" is 20lbs higher than what I pulled because that isnt a true max it is eStating.
