Is there any reason to do exercises on weight machines?
Is sticking to bar/dumbells the best for optimal workout?
The benefit is targeting specific muscle groups without having to worry about the stabilizers and other shit that goes into the normal compounds. Good for strengthening the things holding you back from progressing on your lifts.
Isolations. Sometimes a compound is lacking not because all muscles are weak, but one or two are. OHP is the most notorious for this. Most people don't work their rear delts enough not their anterior ones. Machines allow you to target those muscles specifically, thus aiding in your compounds

yup. once you get to a certain level then you're only as strong as your weakest point. Get your compounds in, then do multi joint accessories, then finish off by smashing your weakpoints with isos.
Compounds first, accessory lifts after. Shit like facepulls, cable flyes, leg curls are all great at the end of a workout.
It's best to do machines first if you're a noob than evolve to free weights with the big boys.
