pick the version that you like best
all that matters is that you have a period (16+ hours usually) where you take in almost zero calories
i do a mix of 20/4 (for cardio days) and 16/8 (for lifting days) when i cut or maintain, and it works wonders

so
you lift in the 8 hour you eat in or the 16 hour you start fasting?
>>40431722
>you lift in the 8 hour you eat
this one
small protein shake with water (for dem BCAAs) around an hour before lifting to stop catabolism, then lifting, then eating the rest of my protons/carbs etc after i get back from the gym
Can I still drink water throughout the day while fasting?

of course water doesn't contain calories

Is there any benefits to fasting while eating at maintenance ?
I know it's good for cutting but what about maintenance
>>40431881
it all depends
if you're an ex-fatty, maintenance can feel like a chore since you have deflated fat cells waiting to fuck your shit up, so fasting might be a good idea to constantly keep burning fat whenever it pops up
if you're a hungry skeleton, you probably don't need to bother
