Need help /fit/

Currently on week 3 of 5x5 and I am on a Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday rotation. Today is supposed to be rest, and I resume with workout A tomorrow. I am wondering what I can do in the gym today since I feel like going. Maybe some cardio? Or pic related? Working towards ottermode, and I plan on moving away from 5x5 after two months of strength building.

Currently 6'2", 165lbs.

Thats bullshit af
Ottermode is just less overall musclemass and being super lean.
You can achieve this with any routine after 1-2 years depending where you are starting from

If you have the time do 3x5 then 2x5 plus cardio alternating for 6 sessions a week. You could also do additional sets for muscle groups not hit in your program (Abs, calves, neck etc.). If you want to do cardio, don't do something which involves eccentric loading. Cycling, swimming, and walking uphill are better thsn running. Eccentric loading is bad for recovery.

Thanks for the detailed input. I just feel like I need to lose some residual fat in my chest area, and core. Would it make more sense to move away from standard 5x5 now, and start doing what you suggested while eating at a deficit to lose the fat, or to continue with 5x5 for a while at a caloric surplus? Goal is lean, muscle mass second priority.
