Just wondering for all the other college students/20 year olds out there how much do you spend on groceries a week? And how can I optimize my grocery bill? I spend about 150-200 a week on food and I feel its way too much. Going to trader joes tomorrow wondering what I should get?
>Trader Joes
Don't bother. Find your local Walmart SuperCenter.
Canned fish is super cheap and good. Potatoes. Eggs. Veggies for those gains.
FROZEN CHICKEN BY THE FUCK TON
Maybe some fruit.
I spend $100/month on myself for groceries.
Go to the cheapest place possible (fucking not trader joes)
Get good produce, lots of eggs, some bread or tortillas, and then whatever meat you like.

Weekly varies too much.
300€-450€ monthly. Again depends how much I eat out that month.
buy as much as you can in bulk like at Aldi.
30-45€/week

Around $90 a week. Used to be more but I stopped buying in bulk. Now I only buy things as I need them. It means going to the grocery store 3-4 times a week but nothing ever goes bad on me anymore, was happening a lot with my veggies and fruit
20-30€ in spain without taking into account the times i eat out, but it tends to be 0. No friends amigo

I make a game out of spending less than 10 £ a week. I eat well too.

Where do you live? If shopping at Aldi is an option for you, absolutely do it. They're so reasonable and have really upped their game in terms of quality options. Same company as Trader Joe's, which is a good sign. Secondly, if you're in an urban area, look for an ethnic food market. Produce and meat tend to be a lot more reasonable at these types of stores than big chain groceries.

Ugh, infuriating. I just typed this all out on mobile and it disappeared.
Here goes again:
Trader Joe's is great. Better quality food than WalMart or a big grocer. WM is good for cheap bulk, though. Good stuff from TJ's: canned fish, smoked fish, natural raw chicken, eggs, yogurt/cottage cheese, avocados, packaged greens, chocolate, and their frozen section is great. Also, check out Aldi if possible like I mentioned above.. Cheaper and more bulk-oriented than TJ's. Aldi + ethnic market is honestly your best bet for saving dough and getting a really good selection.

Also from TJ's: Packaged nuts, trail mixes, and dried fruits. Pack a serious calorie/proton punch and are easy as fuck snacks between classes or whatever.
