Are all gyms as bad as university gyms?

>Two old ladies using both squat racks to do resistance band exercises
>A fully clothed (and hijab wearing) fat Muslim girl with about a pound of makeup sitting on the legpress literally watching a movie on her phone
>Two scrawny gay guys posing in front of the free weights taking pictures of each other
>Old man doing lat pull downs for twenty minutes with 30lbs weight
I started lifting as a freshman and now I'm a senior and I've only gone to my unis gym for all four years.
Are regular gyms this bad, or is it just my shitty progressive university that draws in this crowd?

I went once to my uni's gym, legit cardio bunnies everywhere and a few Asian power lifters. Wasn't bad.

My gym is awesome in everyway, except for only having Smith machines, there's a shit load of really hot girls the actually lift and it's not too crowded when I go in the morning before class

I like my Uni gym because there is an absolute ton of free weight equipment. Something that is sadly sparse in most gyms you see around now days.
Of course there are some retards in my gym that need wrangling as well, but there is a solid core of regulars that know what they are doing.
