My gym borders the de facto Russian neighborhood of my city (which is a dump), they have a bunch of crude tattoos of Cyrillic text and knives and other edgy stuff scattered around their torsos, and one has a scar running down his face. Obviously there's no way for me to confirm it without compromising my own safety, but in general they don't look like they're on the good side of the law, and don't seem to fit the gymrat mold.
