Static stretching before heavy lifting is a bad idea, so good job
I'd rather be the leaning tower of pisa than a balanced hut of nobody gives a fuck

What is this meme
>>40390825
the sticky says this, because apparently it can cause your muscles to tighten up instead of loosening, which can lead to injury.
they suggest doing warm up sets instead
>>40390847
Dynamic stretching before lifting, static after
>>40390838
It's not a meme. Static stretching before heavy lifting can increase the chance of injury
>>40390847
Good to know. This is what I do. I hate static stretching anyway because I have the flexibility of a turtle.
Dynamic stretching. That's the way forward.
You can't stretch cold muscles. Do some warm up sets and then static stretch any muscles which feel a bit tight. You can continue to do this throughout your workout.
Smash some yoga poses at the end of the workout to relax and improve felxability
>tfw constant aches and pains because I never stretch
>>40391240
How though? Just saying it doesn't explain.
anyone else do the stretching in the sticky? I've been doing them for about a month and don't think I've been improving that much

And i'm speaking of static stretching fgts

>stretching with cold muscles is bad
no shit sherlock, stretching has always been a post workout thing and is godly to stave off soreness
also, suppleness gains are nice as party or bedroom tricks
