How long should you stay on Starting Strength or 5x5?
>>40390548
if you're eating enough and/or start conservatively then you can probably stay on it for ~8 months. deload twice (or don't) and move onto more volume.
Until your can no longer make linear progress.
>>40390548
Until you've made it.
>>40390548
until you can't increment the load from one workout to the next anymore
most people who do SS here don't even increment every workout or do some stupid shit like 3x8 instead of sets of 5

i stalled in like 2 months. i don't really think an intermediate program would be the right choice when my weights are novice tier
6 months, the amount of time specified at the start of the book

until you stall 3 times. after that you are most likely out of noob gains and you are intermediate that can progress on weekly basis instead of daily
Everything is explained in the fucking book.

>Most human males cannot make progress on a strength program with a diet of under 4000 calories a day, and on less than 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.

I mean he said you can't make strength gains on 2500kcal and that is simply untrue.
