Found some interesting stuff, thought I´d share it. Never knew this had such an impact, I have been mostly fiddling around with arching and gripwidth while all this time, my barpath was dead wrong.

Quick, practical, to the point.
10/10 post, will try on Wednesday

Just leg drive mang.
>>
Article is more focusing on arms whereas all the videos from the pros show off the importance of the legs

That video also does a shitty job of showing legs.

Biggest factor for my improvement in bench has always been getting my feet screw right into my arse.

The bar path these are illustrating facilitation of more leg and glute, hence why they work.
>>
That video = That pic*
>>
>>40362687
So for leg drive do I push with my heels, as if i'm trying to slide UP the bench, or push flat footed, like I'm trying to lift my ass OFF the bench?
>>

>>40362684
Aye, the research completely leaves out the legdrive. Author mentions so in the preface. Just thought it was pretty interesting, since most vids I´ve seen cover all about legdrive, bridging etc but fails to mention the importance of pathing.
>>

Screw your heels outwards, heels behind knees, glute forcing your entire body up towards the rests (you would physically shoot up the bench if you didn't have the weight on you).

All these, plus activation of calves, quads, glutes and core = maximum kinetic energy and thus bigger bench. If you're obsessing over bar path and you haven't figured out proper leg drive in bench yet your priorities are wrong.
>>
>>40362741
If you properly leg drive then it pushes the bar towards your face and the bar path becomes more optimal like in your pic.
>>
>>40362649
how about just removing that angle and do a straight diagonal path just like devised Starting Strength says?

>Starting strength

Is this ultimate troll still alive

I don't bench on a smith machine
