I think it depends on the person. For me personally, it helps. When I'm single I am basically obligated to go out with the boys to the club Friday/ Saturday and binge drink which hurts the gains. Since getting a gf I drink maybe half a bottle of wine a week max so I can focus on proper eating and gains.
