why can't you add bench to your program ?
>>40339053
it's already in the program. are you not familiar with starting strength?

SS has you do squats and deadlifts every workout and they are almost the same shit. why not do bench and ohp as well?
as you found out, volume is king for strength progression. your squat is constantly improving because you are doing it 3 times a week compared to 2 or even 1 (when you ohp twice in a week) when you alternate.
in a month you squat 12 times which comes out to roughly 180 reps compared to only 90 for bench/ohp. if you count deadlifts as well you are doing 360 reps per month that are improving your squat.
bench and ohp are delts so they also have some carryover between them just like how squat and deadlifts have. there is no reason not to do them on the same day, especially as a beginner that's still getting noob gains.

Starting next week I'm planning on changing the position of bench and squat i.e. bench everyday.
