A shirt can totally fuck you even if you can get it to touch. It'll tend to want to put the bar down super low (sometimes super high, but that's rarer) and if you don't get it right in the groove you've now got an atrocious raw touch position and little/no help from the shirt. That's part of why so many guys end up dumping it on their stomach when its hard to touch.

I took a break for 4-5 months due to injury and now I come back more flexibility than before so my bottom position is even lower.

Everything feels clunky and awkward and it's like I can't actively use my muscles or keep tight as I descend at all.

i didnt start loading weight on the bar but i kept up the movements and a load of stability work so when i was able to start ramping up i wasnt in the position you find yourself in
