Because powerlifting is a shitty abortion of a sport that fucks up two thirds of the entire competition from the fucking get-go.

Sumo shouldn't be any more legal than half squatting, and everyone who pulls sumo is an unlifting bitch. Bench press, if not just replaced with OHP, should not have a fucking "press" command mid-lift. All that leads to is WILDLY varying length of pauses. If a pause is to be enforced, the rule should simply be that the bar must clearly stop on the lifter's chest before moving upwards.

Kind of like how there isn't a "depth" command in the squat because that would be retarded.

So fucking hyped. Couldn't handle the amount of volume each day on Sheiko so now it's basically split up into 6 days rather than 3.

I'm gonna make SO many goddamn gains holy shit. Trappy's gonna coach me through it. She told me this program will take my wilks from 300 to 350 in ONE CYCLE if I abide by her coaching.

How do you guys feel about butchering sheiko to only do the squat/dl programming and maintain what I am already doing for bench?
I'm running GZCL J&T2.0 and bench is going pretty good for my standards and I enjoy the hypertrophy work.
On the other hand I don't really enjoy the sq/dl progression and I'd like to train at lower intensity due to a back injury.

I have been struggling with it for the last year and lately I'm feeling a bit better.I had to switch from lowbar to highbar and I'm working my way up to my old maxes rn.
I'm towards the end of a cycle and I'm so fatigued I only managed a double @ RPE9 at around 90% of my "max" and had to cut short on deads because I couldn't get them off the floor.
From what I've seen Beginner sheiko or Int med vol are 5 weeks including skilltests and my bench programming is 6 weeks,would that be a problem?
Any other program you'd suggest?Should I just lower maxes for the next cycle and give it another go?

I can get it to about 110kg for 5 reps if I bulk hard, but then it falls back to 90-100kg for 5 when I cut. And its also super inconsistent from workout to workout.
BW is 85-95kg cut and bulk weights.

It think it's a solid choice, but keep in mind sheiko really taxes your back pretty hard with all the squats and diddlys. Since your bench is progressing at a faster rate than your sq/dl I would say it's fine to peak at a different week. You also might consider not peaking on sq/dl for a while and just keep running sheiko and auto regulate the weight so you don't injure yourself.

i know you're supposed to build a good base, which 531 beginner does
i know your technique will improve a lot using a training max

and all that good jazz

BUT, take someone who's average, to below average, who's never lifted before, sedentary all his life. he might start out with ridiculous numbers like:

* 60 kg deadlift
* 40 kg squat
* 30 kg bench
* 20 kg ohp

wendler STILL recommends that this person does 2.5 kg jumps for upper and 5 kg jumps for lower.
even if you never deload, that's only a 43 kg increase in bench in a YEAR as a novice

everything pro stated above couldn't possibly justify this. even if you did SS for half a year, and fucked around for half a year doing bro splits, you'd still be better off than 5/3/1 in terms of everything.
