Shaw's not the most mobile guy and he doesn't like it much when the rules benefit guys who can move or get into position better than him. He hates that the rules allow for jerking on most overhead movements, for example. Or the use of deadlift suits which he can't really benefit from.

Yeah, he was bitchin' about the deadlift suits, but, honestly, I can see his perspective.

Dudes as big as him and Thor can't benefit from them, and, straight up, a deadlift suit is an outside advantage. You don't spend as much time/money maintaining that level of strength if you're not a competitive guy. There's probably a prize money difference on the line, too.
