Are hill sprints a meme?
WHY DOES NO ONE RUN HERE REEEEE EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD ARE OBESE USELESS POWERLIFTERS REEEEEEEE
>>40243406
No. They improve your form, build strength, and increase your vo2max.

Because they're afraid they'll become hungry skeletons if they even run 1 mile. As a result, they'll throw out rationalizations just drug addicts do to support their fears. Examples of such are "cardio ruins gains" (nope, it helps because it creates more capillaries which increases blood flow to the muscles, thus helping with recovery) and it destroys your joints and knees, causing arthritis (false, see studies below).

Intervals, hill sprints, and a long, slow run.
>>40244381
Explain intervals?
>>40244469
An example of intervals in a plan:
>Run slow for 1 miles
>Run fast for .5 miles
>Repeat until you ran whatever your target distance is.
Or, using time instead:
>Run slow for 1 minute
>Run fast for 30 seconds
>Repeat until you reach the time you set for the run (e.g. 30 minutes).
Intervals get you used to running fast at regular intervals, with the slower running used to recovery so you can rep up to go fast again. This increases your vo2max, builds your muscles, and helps you deal with going faster.
