So my last chest day i did dumbbell bench presses for 4 sets and i did this many reps per set

What could've caused this? I made sure to eat a lot the only difference I can really think of was that I mightve had more coffee before gym last day

Thats not abnormal, couldve been anything from not having as good of a sleep, working out at a different time of day, what you ate, how long your breaks inbetween sets were.
Or you couldve just had a good workout last time and a not as good workout this time. Your body is not a machine.

Also coffee is a pretty huge things. Most preworkout is just sugar and caffeine
