Hello /fit/

I've recently decided to go into the U.S. Military, and I'm about 95% sure I won't make the weight requirement. I talked to my dad who was in the Army about 30 years ago, and he said I'm going to need to work on push ups, sit ups, and running, I was wondering if there was anything else I should do, like any other exercises I should do to drop the weight. Also if there's a diet I you would recommend I eat that would be great, but keep in mind, I'm trying to drop weight, so no whey protein or anything like that that's going to bulk me up.

It's easy dude it's like retardedly easy. The Marine corps minimum passing pt test is like 3 pullups, 35 crunches and run 3 miles in 28 minutes. It just gets easier in every other branch

Your first goal is to make the weight requirement. They won't even consider you if you're not. To do this, you need to hit the gym, and completely change your diet. Count your calories, eat at a deficit. There are lots of guides out there on how to do this efficiently.

Also, whey protein is pretty damn awesome for cutting weight. Higher protein preserves your muscle, because as you drop weight you lose both fat AND muscle.

Finally, yes, you will be doing a LOT of calisthenics once you're in, but first focus on getting below weight.

They start you off with crawl-walk-run so even fatties can pass but the better shape youre in the easier time you will have. Just because you can go in a fatass and make it, if you dont give up, doesn't mean you should.
