When did you realise that deadlifts are massively overrated for hypertrophy?
>>
>>40214510
>hypertrophy

what a fag you are

neck urself m8
>>
>>40214510
Surprisingly false.
The trick is that HEAVY deadlifts are useless for hypertrophy.
Moderately weighted deadlifts at high speed (not touch and go, but fast movement from floor) are impeccable for hypertrophy.

They made me more strong, especially the core and I got a massive but. Still not worth it aesthetic wise

To not do DLs or isolated lower back exercise.

Instead focus on all the muscles which are needed for your symmetrie: Lats, Shoulders, Forearms and Calvs.

I think this is the ultimate way to get aesthetic for normies like probally you and me
>>

If you want hypertrophy you should do the superior Romanian Deadlift

The Frank says: "woof woof"
>>
>there are people who goto the gym with the sole purpose of strictly gaining muscle for no reason in particular

Flat Bench Press
Back Squat
Conventional Deadlift

These 3 lifts should be part of everyone's routine, regardless of what your goals are. There is literally no fucking excuse for them not being.

Why the fuck would you spend all that time lifting and not obtain pure strength, power and overall athleticism? Aesthetics will come naturally through obtaining more strength and power and overall athleticism.
>>
>>40214536
Yeah I usually do 365 for sets of 6-8, pause at the floor, and stand up as fast as possible.
When I did heavy deadlifts I was hitting 495 for 5.
>>
deadlifts are great, the problem is pussies like you want to eliminate all the hard, mentally challenging exercises from your routine so you can focus on comfy isolation shit. and you're not even man enough to do it on your own, you have to seek confirmation from people on the internet. basically you just want people to tell you that it's OK to drop all the hard exercises from your routine and tell you that it won't affect your progress.
>>
>>40214510
What's that even supposed to mean?

This.

These faggots just tunnel vision "aesthetics" without realizing they're cucking themselves by obtaining a body with zero functionality besides looks.

Would you rather lift and get

A) Aesthetics

B) Aesthetics, Strength, Power, Athleticism

If your answer is A, then sure, go ahead and do your easy mode isolation's targeting every muscle group with some machines or something. Don't ever do anything strenuous or that actually requires you display strength, power or athleticism.

People will think this is a shitpost and ignore it, because /fit/ is fucking delusional

If you want aesthetics, you train for aesthetics
If you want power, you train for power
But here in /fit/, people want aesthetics, train for strength and never obtain either. It's amazing.

Yeah bro keep seeking aesthetics with your very low volume, low reps, high weight training schedule
In some time, while still looking like shit, at least you will be happy deadlifting 3x your body weight
>>

You can't train aesthetics.

Aesthetics is all genetics and drugs.

aestheticsfags are the basic bitches of fitness

also most powerlifting routines feature a high volume block with plenty of bodybuilding movements. but it's not like you'd know that with your 5-day brosplit and 2pl8 quarter squat
>>
There is only one valid goal with strength training and that is weightlifting.

Bodybuilding isn't a sport. It's a pastime for mentally ill manlets with napoleon complexes.

Powerlifting isn't a sport, it's a pastime for nonathletic autistic virgins.

Weightlifting is a sport because you need to be explosive, powerful and you need good technique that takes years to master. You need a coach to succeed and during competition a lot of tactics are involved.

This is simply untrue. Real powerlifting routines might have more volume than casual gym brosplits, but they absolutely do not have more volume than real bodybuilding training.

Fact: 100 out of 100 people who train for strength will get stronger.

Fact: 10 out of 100 people who train for aesthetics will get aesthetic.

Now you know why so many people who are serious about their lifting end up strength training. Only a very small amount of people ever actually get results training for aesthetics, because genetics have too much of an influence on what is considered aesthetic.

There's a reason people can make big money out of the fitness industry by being a fitness model. They don't have any special secret diet methods, no special secret fancy training methods, they don't work harder. They just got lucky and have insane genetics and blow up by just touching a weight and injecting a little bit of test. These guys also have top-tier hair genetics and don't even lose their hair on drugs.

90% of people who train for aesthetics have failed before they even started (because genetics)

>>40215152
Crossfit is the only real sport tbqh. It combines weightlifting with various other elements and is the only objective measurement of how fit you actually are.

While it is true that natty bodybuilding can't go very far (because of stupidly low body fat without drugs), you can achieve very good looks orbiting 10% bodyfat, but yeah, keep thinking like that while looking like shit

>Come back to me in 10 years time when you've been natty lifting on your meme split with your meme exercises and let's see how aesthetic you get.
You double nigger, YOU come back to me in 10 years time when you've been natty powerlifting on your meme strength routine with your meme beliefs about training and let's see how aesthetic you get
I know I'll be even more aesthetic than now, and you will be very strong and that's about it

>>40215129
>powerlifting routines actually have more volume than bodybuilding.
What, no
You have no idea how bodybuilding routines are, you are probably visualizing the noob bench and curl splits

>>40215152
Or you can not be an extremist, you know
You don't have to be a bodybuilder to lift weights wanting to look good
You don't have to be a powerlifter to lift weights wanting to get stronger

>>40215162
This

>>40215198
People can't get their nutrition straight, that's a huge influence as well

>>40215231
Get out faggot, we're discussing weight lifting here, not ass stretching
>>
>>40214826
this is factually incorrect.
You should only include those exercises if you want to get stronger in them specifically or compete in PL.
2/3 of those exercises are garbage for hypertrophy.
3/3 of them have a high degree of skill to successfully carry out
I dont bench anymore cause it did nothing for my chest and I dont plan to powerlift. Weighted Dips and lots of presses have done more for my chest than benching ever did.
>inb4 weak bencher detected
>>
>>40215198
Anybody who trains properly for aesthetics becomes aesthetic. Casuals train aesthetics more often, and never diet properly. If you train for strength you automatically get stronger regardless of diet for the first year or so of training.
>>
>>40215198
CONT:

Basically go ahead and try training for aesthetics. If after 2-3 years you still "look like shit" to aesthetic standards, then yeah, you don't have the genetics for it. Some might even argue that if you don't look aesthetic after the 1st year that you should just give up or switch to powerlifting.

I say this because after 2-3 years, if you don't look anywhere near aesthetic, you've already made the majority of your gains that you'll ever make naturally, therefore any gains you make after that time aren't going to have any drastic impact on your aesthetics.

>>40215152

>>40215132
Is there a problem with doing accessory work after deadlifting
>>
>>40214524
this, Romanian deadlifts especially.
>>
>>40214510
they work pretty well for me, my glutes, hamstrings, and traps dominate my physique and all I only recently started doing anything other than conventional deadlift for those

here's the thing about "x is good for hypertrophy and y isn't"

it varies from person to person

someone with short arms is not going to find the deadlift to be as effective of an overall mass builder as much as someone like me is - I have an advantageous starting position, can handle a lot more weight, and am more resistant to injury because my leverages for deadlift are very good

someone with long femurs isn't going to find the squat to be as effective at building their quads as someone with short femurs, because they will necessarily squat with more forward lean (caveat - hip adduction can help you squat more upright, but the ability to adduct ones hips is dependent on hip geometry) and more forward lean = more stress on the lower back, which becomes a limiting factor before quads get a full training effect

when someone tells you something is without a doubt the best exercise for some purpose, you should be skeptical of that, because what they usually mean is that they got good results from that exercise
>>
>>40215198
your argument is silly

out of 100 people training for aesthetics, 100 of them will look better than they did starting out

out of 100 people training for str, 100 of them will be stronger than they were starting out

but how many of those will be aesthetic to some high standard, or IPF competitor level strong? that is down to genetics in both cases

if you doubt the importance of genetics in powerlifting/strength training, head on over to /plg/ where a 17 year old with 2 years training squats and deadlifts over 500lbs

It is indeed massively overrated.
The main target of deadlifts is the erector spinae muscle. Hamstirng and glutes next. They won't do much for hypertrophy for any other muscle groups.

dumbbell trap raises with your chin into your chest. be sure not to use too much weight you can flex close to 90%.

upper back: pullups and rows (i like DB)
traps: heavy rack pulls from the knee, shrugs done with a pause at the top and complete control over the weight (check ego on these), any DL training you do will also help

add in lateral and rear delt raises to train your shoulders too, complete the profile of your body from the front
>>
The problem is fit is retarded and only the frauds know the truth. You can get stronger, you can look good, but you will not look like the guys in your porno mags unless you also use gear.
