Hey lads need some advice.

Today was the start of week 5 of candito, and I was supposed to be squatting 140kg, ie 3pl8, which is a bit of a milestone so I wanted my mate to video it. He showed late and there was about 15 minutes between my last warmup set and the working set. I nearly failed on the first rep and reracked.

I had been confident of hitting 3, I've not missed a single squat rep all cycle (I hit 10 on the MR10 sets), which previously has meant getting 3 or 4 reps in week 5. Warmups went fine and I was feeling pretty good.

Should I have another shot next Monday - I don't really see how I could hit a pr after 6 days off - or just assume based on past experience I ought to have hit 3 reps and calculate my new predicted 1rm from that?

Bad habits on back squats. My front squats I go down til my hamstrings and calves are touching. I used to squat ATG all the time for my first year lifting, then my pl gymbro at my old gym advised me if I ever wanted to get serious about powerlifting to squat just to depth because that's all that's needed. I did that for a long time just fine and I guess not filming myself for a few months just led to my squats getting higher and higher until they were always too high. I've been trying to work on it for the last month, but habits are hard to break. First issue was fixing my low back from hyper extending, now it's consistently hitting depth.

Bench 1-3x/day (IIRC one of the better benchers had a bit more than 14x/week frequency), max arch (neutral lower back mind you), max grip width, primary goal of theirs is to make the ROM smaller/shorter. Quite specific exercise selection.

They do a lot of work to improve their arch, including benching with PVC pipes under them.
Also max grip - very few do not max grip. And internally rotate your shoulders while trying to get your index finger as far as possible from each other while still being "technically legal".

A lot of volume (hours and hours of benching) and very high frequency, training basically everyday if not multiple times per day.

They do a looot of variations. All sorts of things. If you can imagine a way of pushing the bar while laying back, they probably do it. Reverse grip, closegrip, hips off, board, floor, floor hips off, straight legs, paused, tng, equipped, chains, bands, etc etc

Also, they put pretty much 90% of the focus on actually BENCHING, and the bodybuilding stuff they do is highly focused on the chest and a bit on the triceps (depends on the lifter, some focus on chest almost exclusively).

I'm not sure if they work high intensity often, or if it's just for the videos, but pretty much all footage we have of them is doing high intensity work, RPE 9-10.
The ones I've seen also seem to focus on heavy singles to triples, but I've seen a couple of higher rep things (up to like, 3 reps normal then 5 reps hips up).
