For my first six months or so of lifting I used a Bowflex that my father bought ~10 years ago, because it was free and convenient. Machines are good for getting started, but once you have the basics and the motions down, transition to free weights and only use the machines for whatever niche things you can't do with traditional equipment.
It isnt better but it isnt bad either. You can do rows, pulldowns, incline presses, seated OHP, curls, tricep isolation, and face pulls. You wont really be able to work legs,glutes,and lower back. If you want to get one also get a db set to like 20b so you can do lateral raises and front raises. Just split your days into push/pull. Also you should do some calisthenics for your legs, glutes, and lower back
