Your hair grows back quickly to the prevous length, then usually continues growing(as it would have anyways)

Also since you cut the hair it will initially look fuller because you see the cut ends of the hair instead of sides.

If you can't grow a beard but still grow patchy, just trim it close and it will look fuller/better than if you grew a shitty pube beard.
